In Belarus with Car:

Entry into Belarus with a car is subject to specific regulations and legal requirements. Below, we provide important information and official guidelines for travelers who wish to visit Belarus with their own vehicle.

  1. Visa Validity: First and foremost, travelers must obtain the necessary visa (check visa section) if required.
  2. Bordering Countries: Motorists can enter Belarus from any neighboring country. However, it is advisable to check the points of border crossings open to international traffic.
  3. Car Registration: It is essential for the car to be correctly registered in the driver's home country and be under the driver's name who will drive it in Belarus. Alternatively, the driver must have an official authorization letter allowing its use abroad. The car can also be registered under a company, provided the driver has authorization for international travel with it.
  4. Insurance: Before crossing the Belarusian border, the car must be covered by valid insurance. It is recommended to carefully check the insurance coverage for Belarusian territory and consider purchasing additional insurance if necessary.
  5. Beltoll System: At the entry into Belarus, the car must be equipped with the Beltoll system for highway toll payments. This system allows avoiding fines and penalties for missed payments. Please obtain the Beltoll system at the Belarusian entry points or authorized distribution points.
  6. Car Sale: During the temporary stay, the car cannot be sold in Belarus. Otherwise, import taxes and other sanctions will be applied.
  7. Car Usage: The car can only be used by the person indicated in the customs documents, and its stay in Belarus must be limited to the driver's visa period.
  8. Road Safety: Travelers are advised to strictly follow the road rules and drive safely and responsibly during their stay in Belarus.
